The NuMex Twilight Pepper is a stunning ornamental hot pepper variety developed by New Mexico State University. Renowned for its rainbow-like display of vibrant fruits, this compact plant brings both beauty and spice to gardens, balconies, and containers.

The peppers grow upright in clusters, starting deep purple, then maturing through yellow, orange, and finally a brilliant red — creating a striking multi-colored gradient on a single plant. The effect is almost like a bouquet of fiery, glowing lights, making it one of the most eye-catching peppers for ornamental use.

Despite their ornamental appeal, NuMex Twilight peppers are fully edible and pack a moderate to high heat (around 30,000–50,000 Scoville Heat Units), similar to cayenne. Their flavor is sharp and peppery, making them suitable for salsas, pickling, and hot sauces for those who enjoy a kick.
